Springbank Distillery
Springbank is a distillery that has always walked its own path. Part of the reason that they have reached the pinnacle of whiskies for collectors is that they have always been led by their whisky, whisky that is consistently high quality and appropriately priced. Springbank are family owned and their huge success means that they struggle to say yes to new accounts for retailers due to their carefully limited output. They’ve even put a pause on their Springbank Society Membership as they just can’t keep up with demand.
La Reserve
La Reserve was a Knightsbridge wine merchants, founded by Mark Reynier, who was also the godfather to the children of Hedley Wright, the then director of Springbank, and the great-great grandson of Springbank’s founder. La Reserve was known for selling casks of Springbank and Ardbeg to the public in the early 1990s, but like many wine merchants of the time, they also bottled their own whiskies, some of which have become incredibly sought after.
