Sazerac:

The Sazerac company has its roots in 17th century France, as the Sazerac family began to produce eaux de vie for cognac. Descendents of the family subsequently travelled to New Orleans where they established an apothecary to sell bitters, peppermint, and alcohol. These Sazerac Houses helped to esablish a wholesale liquor business that evolved into the Sazerac that we know today. Sazerac now owns such brands as Southern Comfort, George T. Stagg, Pappy Van Winkle, and Buffalo Trace.
