Rosebank Distillery
Closing in June 1993, Rosebank’s stills and equipment were later stolen by unknown criminals. The biggest move for Rosebank in the last few years was the purchase of the site from British Waterways and the rights to the name and stocks from Diageo by Ian Macleod, owner of Glengoyne, Tamdhu and Smokehead brands. The aim is to fully reopen and produce whisky at the distillery. Two 30 year old single cask whiskies are destined to demonstrate how the cherished lowland malt still creates demand from collectors.
Douglas Laing
Douglas Laing is one of very few whisky companies in Scotland that is still family-run; it was founded by Fred Douglas Laing in 1948 and is now under the leadership of Fred Laing and his daughter Cara. It is under this leadership that the company has moved towards bottling single malts in the UK rather than exporting elsewhere. Today, Douglas Laing has bottled whiskies from the likes of Brora, Ardbeg, and Port Ellen.
