Mortlach distillery is well-known for having an extremely complex distilling regime, barely comparable to any others in Scotland. The regime results in a weighty and meaty spirit making Mortlach ideal for blending. However, it has since seen some prevalence as a single malt including a 50 year old bottled by Gordon & Macphail.
